Exclusive: 3 launch their free laptops and
mobile broadband early!
A few days ago, I reported that “3” would be launching their mobile broadband with free laptop at the start of August 2008, however they have ensured that they are the first ISP to role this out today, following reports that Orange are hot on their heels.
3’s actions follow the recent launch of mobile broadband with free laptop bundles from Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U who were the first on the bandwagon to offer consumers even more freedom to surf the web and keep in touch whilst on the move.
Today, 3 have launched their free laptop with mobile broadband deals, which start at £30 per month and come with either a HP 530 Notebook, HP 2133 mini-note HP or a Pavilion dv6910. If you go through Carphone Warehouse, customers receive a free Acer Aspire 5315 laptop.
In addition to receiving a free laptop worth at least £329, and your mobile broadband package in one, you receive a free USB Modem and at least 5GB data allowance, depending on the package that you choose. With 3’s Broadband Max package, you get a whopping 15GB allowance!
This typical usage of 5GB is equal to 3,250 text emails + 150 two minute videos + 150 video downloads + 300 music tracks.
These deals are great for students and business people alike, who want the greatest flexibility with their Internet connection. With mobile broadband, even if you often move around, you can take your Internet connection with you, something that you can’t do with a fixed landline broadband package.
Considering the amount of money that the laptops on offer are worth, (£699.99 for the highest specification), these bundles are great value for money with genuine savings to be made. These free laptop deals from 3 will see them push to become the UK’s most competitive mobile broadband provider.
